Vyr. elektronikos inžinierius (Lead Electronics Engineer)

Vilnius, Lithuania

The role

  • Own the electronics of the entire laser system: architecture, subsystem definition, interface control documents (ICDs), integration, and verification.
  • Your first project, a Smart Power Distribution Unit (Smart PDU, 48 V DC): development is carried out by trusted external partners, while you supervise the work, make the technical decisions, and take over the product through a real project, onboarding by doing.
  • Supervise external contractors: PCB layout partners, manufacturing (EMS) partners, firmware contractors.
  • Hands-on work in the lab: board bring-up, measurements, debugging to root cause.
  • Over time — build and lead the electronics department.

Must-have requirements

  1. 5+ years of electronics engineering experience; at least one product taken from prototype to serial production with clear personal ownership.
  2. Power electronics: DC power distribution, 24 / 48 V systems, MOSFET switching, protection circuitry (eFuse, hot-swap, reverse polarity), current and voltage sensing.
  3. System-level thinking: able to decompose a complex electromechanical / electro-optical system into subsystems and define interfaces, requirements, and failure scenarios.
  4. Hands-on lab experience: oscilloscopes, electronic loads, board bring-up, fault finding.
  5. Firmware literacy: able to read and review embedded C/C++ and specify requirements for firmware developers (writing production firmware yourself is not required).
  6. Experience working with suppliers and contractors: writing technical statements of work, accepting deliverables, quality control.
  7. Technical documentation in English.

Nice to have

  • Background in automotive, defense, aerospace, or industrial electronics.
  • EMC/EMI design practice; familiarity with MIL-STD-461 / MIL-STD-810.
  • STM32 / ARM Cortex-M, CAN / CAN-FD, Ethernet.
  • Altium Designer or KiCad (layout is done by partner companies, review capability is enough).
  • Experience leading a team or a technical workstream.
  • Lithuanian language (the working language can be English).

What we offer

  • Greenfield ownership, the electronics architecture of an entire system, built from zero, with no legacy designs and no bureaucracy.
  • A clear growth path: from principal individual contributor to head of the electronics department.
  • A small, senior team (photonics, optics, systems) where decisions are made fast.
  • Work with real hardware in the lab, not just documents.
  • Salary: € 3000 – 6000 gross/month, depending on experience.

You don't need to tick every box. Part of the work, PCB layout, EMC testing, part of the firmware, is done by trusted partners, and the team will teach you the laser-system specifics. We are looking for a strong core, not someone who already knows everything.
